Privacy Policy

Summary

Asana Atlas is a static-reading reference site. You can read every page without an account, without signing in and without giving us your name, your email address or your date of birth. The only personal data we hold is what you choose to send us by email, plus the ordinary server logs described below.

Advertising and Google AdSense

This site is supported by advertising and uses Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie and similar identifiers for this purpose. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant to you.

Third-party ad networks may also place or read cookies on your browser when they serve an ad here. We do not control those cookies and we do not receive the data they collect in an identifiable form; their own privacy policies govern that processing.

Cookies and local storage

We set no cookies of our own for readers. The site may use your browser's local storage for small interface conveniences — for example remembering which tab you last opened on a pose page — and that value never leaves your device.

Advertising and analytics providers may set their own cookies as described above. Where the law requires it, a consent message provided by our advertising partner is shown before those cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time.

Server logs

Like every web server, ours records requests: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer, user-agent and response code. We use the aggregate form — page views, referring domains, error rates — to see which entries are read and to find broken pages. Log entries are rotated by the hosting provider and are not combined with any other data to identify individuals.

Analytics

If a web analytics service is enabled on this site, it is configured to collect page-level statistics only. We do not enable features that build cross-site profiles of individual readers, and we do not upload customer lists or any other identifying information to advertising platforms.

Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to be informed about the processing described here, to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent — for example for personalised advertising — you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Our lawful bases for processing are your consent (advertising cookies) and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and understanding which pages are read (server logs and aggregate statistics). To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.

Your rights under the CCPA

California residents have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell personal information for money. You can opt out of personalised advertising, which is treated as sharing under the CCPA, using the opt-outs linked in the advertising section above, and you can exercise your other rights by emailing [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Children

This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we do not target advertising at them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and security

Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of corrections to the library. The site is served over HTTPS. We do not operate a user database, because there are no user accounts.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes that affect what is collected, or why, will be described here rather than buried in a changelog.
